Nominated ruling Jubilee party Senator Isaac Mwaura is on the spot over a photo he used in a post on Facebook on Thursday.
The photo shows a small albino boy standing in front of the kids.
Senator Mwaura claimed in the post that the boy in the picture was him as a young boy and that it was taken in the 80s.
In the caption he claims that he was 4 years old when the picture was taken.
"I started addressing a political gathering at the age of 4 years 😋 . A great #TBT in 1986 at Githunguri, Kiambu County. #MuthunguWaRuiru#MunguMbele," the caption read.
Kenyans on social media swiftly unloaded on him, accusing him of lying to his followers.
A quick search on the internet yields a damning revelation, that the boy is not a young Isaac Mwaura but a boy who hails from Zambia.
The photo was used by German outlet DW in an article on the plight of albinos.
At the time of writing this article, the nominated Senator had not responded to the criticism that he has been subjected to by the netizens.
Mwaura has been at the frontline of fighting for people living with disability and has been a champion especially for albinos.
