Baby Jeremy was born on April 1, 2019, at 24 weeks.

He was then put in an incubator for five months to help him grow.

At the time the baby was being discharged, he weighed 3.5 kgs.

According to Kenyatta National Hospital Chief Executive Dr Evanson Kamuri, the facility has updated the services they offer to newborns with complications.

“He will be discharged today…I can assure Kenyans that services offered to the newborn are up-to-date,” said Dr Evanson Kamuri as quoted by Citizen Digital

Baby Jeremy, who has been dubbed a 'miracle baby', had complications after birth.

According to Dr Miriam Karanja, a neonatologist at the facility, the baby struggled to breathe after birth.

Dr Karanja also noted that Baby Jeremy suffered from rickets. This according to the doctor was due to lack of enough calcium while in his mother's womb.

The doctor noted that the baby is currently healthy without any complications.

Dr Karanja also revealed that Baby Jeremy was enumerated at the facility.

He is not the first, but the second baby to be born at the facility weighing 400 grams.
