Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Fred Matiang'i will on Thurday join Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji in Lamu for the ongoing 'All for Justice' Service week.

Matiang'i is expected to lead a community dialogue with residents at Mkunguni square.

According to DPP Haji, the Interior CS will also visit Hindi prison.

Matiang'i is expected to hand over new vehicles to Hindi prison in efforts to expedite judicial process and service delivery to Kenyans.

The CS will also tour several Islands alongside Haji in a meet the people tour aimed at expediting cases and restoring Kenyan's confidence in the justice sector.

"We are going to have Interior CS Fred Matiang'i with us on Thursday and Friday so that he can respond to some of the issues you are raising," Haji told Faza Island residents on Wednesday.

Attorney General Kihara Kariuki is also expected in Lamu for the community dialogue.

Haji says that actors in the judicial sector are working together to expedite cases.

The DPP opened the Lamu service week at Mkunguni on Monday.

He notes that the service week will see petty offenders released from prisons.

The DPP furher says the service week dialogue seeks to sensitize residents on alternative approaches to judicial proceedings.

He adds that the service week focuses  on empowering the people to know their constitutional rights.
