Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot has said that there is no democracy in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) as the name suggests.
In an interview with NTV’s AM Live, the senator said that there is something wrong with the political outfit. He noted that Former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga-led political party.
He said that the leaders of the opposition are always not ready to understand anyone in the political arena.
“I’ve always said the D in ODM stands for Dictatorship. That is not how the rest of Kenyans want to live their lives. We don’t have to agree with everyone, “he said.
He also defended Deputy President William Ruto after Rarieda MP Otiende Amolo accused him of playing double standards in the political arena.
He insisted that Ruto, who is considered as one of the runners in the race for power, has been consistent in the political arena.“If there are two consistent things in this country in this country; it's sunrise and DP William Ruto,” he said.
The senator also said that the leaders in the opposition have been spreading propaganda ahead of 2022.
He reaffirmed that Ruto is a strong politician who cannot be underestimated as far as the next Presidential contest is concerned.
