The suspect was born and raised up in Nakuru’s Mwariki slum.

He attended Race-track Primary School and later joined Langalanga secondary school.

Irungu’s former classmates described him as jovial and confident but average on academics.

“I don’t remember him topping the class. He was however in the music team at the school,” Grace Njeri, a former classmate at Langalanga secondary, said.

The 28-year-old Irungu was brought up in a Christian environment and never missed church at the Agape Church in Langalanga.

“The father is a pastor,” a source who knows the family said without elaborating.

Interestingly, he is suspected of killing a pastor's daughter.

Jowie’s family has since moved to Lanet where they reportedly purchased a piece of land.

He is the second born in a family of two boys and two girls.

The girl, a source said, is the only one who joined a university in Eldoret.
