Through David Kamau Ngari, the group wants the process halted with immediate effect because of what it terms as illegalities and deceit.

The group wants Former Presidential candidate Ekuru Aukot asked to withdraw the proposals from the County Assemblies with immediate effect.

The case, which was presented before Justice Jacqueline Kamau has been considered as urgent.

Kamau has since asked the petitioner to serve a copy of the argument to the 47 county speakers, Speakers of the Senate and National Assembly and the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for debate before a decision can be made over the same.

Kamau directed the petitioner to wait until July 30 before the case is mentioned.

The petitioner argues that the uniformity of the signatures the party presented for approval leaves behind so many questions as far as the authenticity of the process is concerned. The lobby also argued that IEBC has no mandate to conduct the process.

"The IEBC as presently constituted lacks constitutional competence and technical capacity to admit, process and approve the proposed Bill together with the supporting documents and signatures of registered voters as presented," reads the petition, as quoted by Daily Nation.
