Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa has declared that he will contest for Jubilee Party chairmanship in Bungoma County
The seat is currently held by the Sirisia MP John Waluke.
Barasa said he is not happy with Jubilee Party's leadership in Bungoma County.
“I Didmus Barasa, I will be contesting for the Bungoma chairmanship of Jubilee Party, I hereby tender my candidature to go for Bungoma County Jubilee Party chairperson position. It is worth noting that the current leadership was put and it's still in an acting capacity,” he said on Thursday.
He said it will be a new dawn for Jubilee Party in Bungoma since it will have a new face once elected.
"Jubilee Party is a national party. It should be driven by men and women who are zealous, firm and listens to the needs of the people and party members, not backward, visionless leadership pegged on politically riparian ideological leadership," he added.
He said he was not intending to contest for any seat in the party but due to public demand, he decided to contest so that he may put the party together in terms of providing better leadership for Jubilee Party in Bungoma.
