Professor Herman Manyora has faulted youths for lamenting over the lack of jobs yet they are doing nothing to rescue themselves.
In an interview with NTV Am Live, Manyora said that most youth are lost in the pornography, gambling and watching English Premier League Matches at the expense of their lives. He challenged youths to stand up so that they are counted within the society.
“The young men in this country who we should be counting on also have not impressed me because they are doing three things; gambling pornography and Premier League,” he said.
Barack Muluka, who spoke on the same platform, said that time has come for Kenyans to stand up for their country.
He said that the country has continued to lag behind in terms of development because of the lack of loyalty. He noted that most Kenyans are not passionate about their nation.
“This is our country, it is the place to be, it is the place to continue hoping for...If you can't love this country you can't love any other because anywhere else you go, you are a foreigner,” he said.
The rise in the number of youths engaging in betting has become a subject of concern.
