Renowned economist David Ndii now says political careers of Deputy President William Ruto and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga could come to an end in the near future.
Ndii said the current political happenings aimed at controlling 2022 succession, could 'finish' the two political bigwigs who enjoy huge following in the country.
In a tweet on Saturday, he pointed out efforts by dynasties to continue clinging in power and the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), as political developments which could mean the end of Ruto and his nemesis Raila.
He said the DP, the self-declared hustler and the leader of the 'husltler nation', will be finished by dynasties who are reportedly joining hands to block him from the 2022 presidential contest.
On the other side, the Oxford University-trained economist said Raila will be finished by the BBI, which they formed together with President Uhuru Kenyatta after their famous March 9, 2018 handshake.
"Dynasties must finish Ruto—its a do or die. And its looking like #BBIFraud will finish Raila. Both eventualities would be good for the country. The last thing we need is a toxic 2022 election between the two," he tweeted.
Ndii made the remarks after Raila led a BBI forum in Bukhungu stadium in Kakamega County, that was attended by a number of political heavyweights in the country.
The ODM boss said the project was about coming up with an economic model that will make Kenya prosperous, and where everyone will feel included and safe regardless of who the leader of the country is.
"The journey to a nation with shared prosperity is what we have now embarked on through the BBI process. I urge our people to continue making their views known at the different fora that will be taking take place across the country," Raila said.
Ruto recently said BBI has been hijacked by ODM in an attempt to take over power in the next general election.
