The messy divorce case pitting Meru Senator Mithika Linturi against his estranged wife Marianne Kitany got messiest on Wednesday. Former Deputy President William Ruto's chief of staff continues exposing what she says forced her to seek divorce.
When narrating her marriage experiences with Senator Linturi in a Nairobi court, the woman opened up about alleged forgery allegations. She said the senator took her relatives' land documents and secured loans with them.
She claimed they are still paying the loans without Mr Linturi's help and also the senator has not returned the documents as agreed.
“At one time, he threatened that he would kill me because of bringing up the issues of forgeries and spoiling his career. I decided to report the matter to the police,” said Kitany as quoted by Citizen.
As she continued with her testimony, Kitany alleged that Senator Mithika Linturi planned to poison her.
“On the night of December 19, 2018, my son was slapped by the goons. I, thereafter, told my children to go put up with my relatives in Nairobi. The goons came to my house carrying at least 9 pangas and 9 machetes, which were found in our Runda home the next day. Later, a lady came to my house and alleged that she had been hired to poison me,” said Ms Kitany as reported by K24.
