Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli has asked churches not to accept donations from Deputy President William Ruto.
Speaking during a funds drive at Bukwala Seventh Adventist church in Kakamega on Sunday, Atwoli said that the cash from the second in command are proceeds of corruption.
He argued that the church leaders and their children risk receiving curses if they continue to receive cash from Deputy President and his allies.
He also said that those who have accepted Ruto’s monies are no longer at peace.
“I am telling these reverends someone should not bring Ruto monies and give children in your house because children in your house will perish. Those who took Ruto ‘s money are not at peace in their homes.
"Because he was born in 1966 which brains doesn’t he have? In 1967 I started working when Ruto was barely two years old. I have worked for 52 years. I depend on my salary. Why I am not a multibillionaire?"
Because yeye mtu alizaliwa 1966 yuko na akili gani? 67 mimi naanza kufanya kazi Ruto hajamaliza miaka mbili. NImefanya kazi miaka 52, naishi kwa mashahara kwa mimi si multibillionaire)
Atwoli has said he will ensure Ruto is not on the ballot box in 2022. He has been accusing him of masterminding mega scandals in government.
