A boy who recently went missing in Kisumu county has been found alive in Homa Bay county.

Akif Malik (7) is said to have gone missing from his parents how in Kenya Re Estate within Kisumu City on Sunday.

However, detectives on Wednesday found him in Nyandiwa, Suba South Constituency in Homa Bay County.

Tnw officers also nabbed a woman thought have participated in his disappearance, which the police are handling as a case of kidnapping.

The recovery was confirmed by Homa Bay County Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) commander Daniel Wachira.

He said that the recovery was made after a tipoff from members of the public, adding that the woman was taken to Magunga Police Station for questioning.

"Our officers from Magunga Police Station received a report about the activities of the suspects,” said the police boss, who noted that the public became suspicions after spotting the suspect with the minor.

He added that the woman will be transfered to Kisumu county as investigations begin into the matter.

Initial details indicated that the boy, who has since identified him,  was last seen engaging a middle-aged man in a conversation.

The man is said to have then abducted him into a red car.
