Political analyst Dismas Mokua has said ODM leader Raila Odinga might be eyeing the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), as his political vehicle for future elections.
Speaking on Sunday, the commentator said all indications point at Raila as a man trying to transform the initiative into a political party, with his eyes on the fast-approaching 2022 polls.
He said he suspects the former Prime Minister wants to slightly tilt the BBI tag to fit a political name, to bring out something around 'Building Bridges Coalition (BBC)'.
"In my view, the reason why we got a BBI, one of the principals, I suspect Raila Odinga wanted to use the BBI report to form a political party for 2022. He was probably looking at forming something like BBC; Building Bridges Coalition," he said on KTN's Inside Politics.
He claimed Raila seems to be using his deputies in ODM to realise the plan, which he openly demonstrated during the BBI launch at the Bomas of Kenya on Wednesday.
According to Mokua, the fact that only the two were given an opportunity to talk on the side of the Orange party at the function, indicates that Raila is up to something.
"You will notice some of the people who spoke; Oparanya (Wycliffe) and Joho (Hassan), it was not by accident that they are the only people who spoke," he added.
