Speaking during a press conference on Wednesday, the legislator condemned his sentiments terming them as a slip of the tongue.

"That I never meant bad to the community. I think it was a slip of the tongue when I mentioned the word Luo came in and I am very sorry about that. So I want to apologize to honourable Tuju and to honourable Raila, the former Prime Minister, for that speech that I made last week," he said

His public apology comes after the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) summoned him to appear before them on Thursday.

He is supposed to present himself at the Kilimani police station for interrogation over his remarks against the Luo community.

Last week while in his home community, Mr John Waluke had threatened to solicit support to remove the Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju and send him back to his "troublesome community."

His "troublesome community" remarks have now landed him in trouble. His video asking for forgiveness might be too late as the harm has already been done.

He also begged the NCIC to forgive him.

"I also want to apologize to the Cohesion commission that has summoned me to appear there on Thursday. I am very sorry about that," he said.
