Many colleges and universities will be resuming normal learning in the course of this week. At Kenyatta University, regular students are expected to report back to school today (Monday) after a one-month break.
New students, the majority of whom are Form Four leavers, are also expected to report today to begin their academic journey in the institution of higher learning.
This week, which marks the start of the new semester of the 2018/2019 study year, will see limited learning activities and uncountable social activities taking place at the campus.
KU students party within the campus as well as outside the university. Some of these parties such as the freshers' bash are fully sponsored by the university administration. Other parties held at the campus are usually organised and financed by the students themselves.
Female comrades planning to attend these parties should avoid the following:
1. Avoid wearing heels
This is an important tip because it touches on both your comfort and your security. Heels might limit your movement during the party, causing you not to enjoy yourself fully. It will also be difficult to dance the night away if you're wearing heels as you likely to get tired quickly. As we all know, campus guys tend to get rowdy especially when there is alcohol involved. Avoid wearing your favourite six-inch heels to make it easier for you to run to safety in case chaos erupt.
2. Don't put on an outfit you don't want to get ruined
Students get drunk easily and in such situations, anything can happen. Drunk students at campus parties are likely to engage in arguments that might escalate to minor fights. Your best outfit might get ruined during the chaos, and leave you devasted.
3. Avoid overdressing
You might want to stand out from the rest, but very few will be concerned about what you are wearing in such parties. Dressing up too much will only prove futile, as the main aim should be having a good time.
4. Avoid going commando
It is common for ladies to decide to put on a dress without underwear for easier twerking. This is discouraged during campus parties as you risk being harassed by male comrades.
