The Kenya Forest Service (KFS) has warned Kenyans against fake officers claiming to be from KFS.
In a tweet on Tuesday, KFS pointed out that some people have fake documents which they are using to steal from unsuspecting persons.
"KFS would like to warn the public of fraudsters masquerading as KFS Staff & defrauding members of the public by claiming to give donations of timber, charcoal, & firewood. The fraudsters call their victims & share photos of fake KFS documents and photos of KFS staff in uniform," said KFS.
The service noted that a number of religious and charitable organizations have already been conned by these people.
Once they convince you of their services, they ask for cash to cater for transportation.
However, KFS has noted that they dont give donations to anyone.
"The Service informs the public that it does not give out any donations, and all forest produce reverted to the Service after the conclusion of court proceedings, is disposed off through the normal disposal procedures," said KFS.
The service asked Kenyans to be vigilant of these fraudsters and report any cases to their nearest officers or to the police station for immediate actions.
