The three identified as Ann Nzeli, Faith Wanza and Stacy Wanza, are suspected to be behind the theft and selling of kids in the area.

According to Mlolongo Assistant County Commissioner Dennis Ongaga set a trap for the three by posing as a buyer.

"We have been receiving reports about kidnapping and theft of kids aged one day to five years since last year. We have been following on a group of suspected child trafficking syndicate in Mlolongo," said Ongaga.

He said that they were able to arrest the two ladies involved in the syndicate and the mother of a four-year-old kid who had collaborated to have his son sold at sh.30,000.

"We positioned ourselves as interested buyers of the kids and we were given a four year old kid being sold at sh.30,000 but before they could get paid we arrested them including the mother of the kid, a 22-year-old woman," the Assistant County Commissioner said.

Ongaga said that investigations are ongoing to arrest others who could be involved in the syndicate. He warned residents to be vigilant and take care of their kids.
