Mombasa County governor Ali Hassan Joho commented on Sonko’s newly acquired American accent on Wednesday while thanking him for successfully hosting the first ever Blue Economy Conference.

In a video shared on Nairobi County governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko’s Facebook page, Governor Joho makes fun of his counterpart’s borrowed accent when giving his thanksgiving speech at the City Hall in Nairobi.

“Governor 047, thanks for welcoming us to your cirry…This is the headquarra.,” he said making the congregation burst in laughter. 

Joho said that the whole world has now known that if Sonko decides to switch his language, he can do it. 

“Unajua dunia nzima ilijua pia if Sonko decides to switch the other way,” he said.

Sonko’s speech during the conference has been the talk of town as he twenged to make the international guests happy. 

He (Sonko) also commented on why he had copied an American accent. He revealed that he wanted to make the International guest feel at home and also to make them happy. 

The conference which began on Monday ended on Wednesday. It was about how countries can use their water bodies like oceans, seas, lakes and river in creating employment opportunities for their people, improving their lives and also the growth of their economy.
