Google has released trending topics for the month of July.
A report from the firm indicates that Kenyans searched most for the death of Guyanese-born Safaricom Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Bob Collymore.
Collymore died on the morning of July 1, 2019 after a long battle with cancer. It also emerged that Kenyans searched for the football match between English Premier League club Everton vs Kenya’s Kariobangi Sharks.
The recent death of Kibra Member of Parliament Ken Okoth came at the death place in the Google ranks.
The fourth position was taken by Former KTN news anchor Esther Arunga. Arunga was given a 10 months jail probation after she was arrested over the links to the death of her son in 2014 under mysterious circumstances.
At the fifth position, Kenyans search for the face application while the sixth highest searched most was the Kenyan socialite Vera Sidika came at the sixth place after posting photos of herself looking darker than usual despite being vocal about using skin lightening products.
Cancer came seventh while Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru’s wedding to city lawyer Kamotho Waiganjo took to the eight positions.
The ninth position was taken by the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Google remains one of the leading search platforms.
