Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has revealed the reason behind his silence on the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) and its said plan to amend the Constitution.
The initiative was founded by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) boss Raila Odinga after their March 2018 truce, before picking a task-force to steer it.
And while Raila's allies have hinted that the task-force, which has retreated to write a report, will propose constitutional changes, Khalwale says that he is yet to make up his mind on it.
Speaking on Tuesday, he said he cannot support a blank suggestion, considering that nothing has been said about what it wants changed, adding that it has proposed nothing.
He challenged those pushing the course to come out clear like Thirdway Alliance leader Ekuru Aukot and his Punguza Mizigo initiative and illuminate Kenyans on what its all about.
"I haven’t supported the BBI because it has stated nothing. The moment they come out like Ekuru Aukot and state something I will say if I support it or not," he said on NTV's AM Live.
The BBI team is expected to submit its report before its timeline expires in October this year.
