According to the report of the year ending June 30, 2019, indicates that the said amount cannot be accounted for.

The findings also indicate that Sh40.3 billion of the said amount was supposed to be channeled to other departments following the budget read by Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich.

Ouko also noted that the only Sh25.9 billion of Sh34.1 billion is allocated to the Semi-Autonomous Government Agencies was received by the same. It remains unclear where the balance went to.

“As a result, the accuracy of the grants and transfer cannot be confirmed,” Mr. Ouko says in the report, as Daily Nation.

The report also showed that only Sh.2.6 billion were disbursed to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics instead of Sh2.4 billion.

Another discrepancy noted in the budget was an indication that Sh29.8 billion had been paid to the National Government-Constituency Development Fund but the commission only received Sh21.9 billion.

Ouko wants the officers in the Treasury to shed more light on the records. He noted that the discrepancies are likely to affect the performance of different projects.

He noted that the amount indicated and what was actually disbursed show massive errors.
