Senate Majority Leader Kichumba Murkomen has affirmed that the retreat scheduled in Naivasha is not meant to undermine President Kenyatta following his recent remarks, but its meant to discuss the BBI Report.
While speaking in a press conference at the Lake Naivasha Resort, Murkomen said that they don't have any grudge with the president and they won't answer back.
"We fully respect the President and as juniors, we shall not answer back, but study the BBI report before coming up with a way forward for the region," Murkomen said.
He affirmed that the retreat is meant to bring positive impacts to residents of the 'Rift' following various challenges experienced in the region.
The challenges include floods, settlement issues, poor prices for agricultural commodities and insecurity cases in the region.
"We shall also discuss the recent tragedy that befell our brothers and sisters in West Pokot among other issues currently affecting Rift Valley," he denoted.
Kimani Ngunjiri who is the chairman of the caucus denoted that they want to ensure that everybody understands the report before the information is passed to the electorate. He also added that the president had requested that everybody reads and understands the report and they were doing the same.
''The President told us to re"ad and understand the report and that is what we're are doing here in Naivasha," he said.
Naivasha MP Jane Kihara also added that the meeting will be used for bonding and knowing each other better.
