Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi while speaking on Saturday, when he joined catholic worshipers for a church service during the consecration and opening of Our Lady of Victory, Kisii Town Parish, asked church leaders to urge faithfuls to read the BBI report.

"Church leaders have a big role to play in reading the BBI report. I urge church leaders to encourage their faithfuls to read the report and understand the content before supporting it. Let us not depend on politicians to read the report on our behalf," Maangi noted.

According to Maangi, BBI should be implemented faster before 2022 polls to allow politicians achieve their 2017 campaign promises.

"For the sake of ensuring political leaders do not talk too much about the BBI report, I recommend that the report be implemented quickly so that leaders can concentrate on service delivery to the electorates before 2022 polls," he added.

Maangi, a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto challenged political leaders irrespective of their political parties to back the report.

Present at the church service was Kisii Governor James Ongwae among other leaders.
