Economist David Ndii believes President Uhuru Kenyatta may after all dump ODM leader Raila Odinga, based in the head of state's latest declaration.
At Naivasha on Wednesday, Uhuru who was launching SGR Phase II, said he's not interested in staying in power, adding that when the time comes, he will leave.
Uhuru denied claims that Building Bridges Initiative team has been working hard to create a position for him which he would take after retiring.
"I will go home when that time comes. I have no interest in staying around and that is a promise. I am not interested in creating a position for myself," he said, defending BBI team.
Contrary to Uhuru's remarks, Mr Odinga has hinted government changes, arguing that the country should adopt Parliamentary system of government.
And Ndii says Uhuru's statement is an indication that Mr Odinga is walking his own path, given that Uhuru is not interested to continue staying in power.
"This means that Raila is on his own," said Ndii, a former strategist for Raila's NASA coalition, which has been undergoing internal wrangles.
Further, Ndii said he will be keen to see President Uhuru Kenyatta going home. For years, he has accused Uhuru of mismanagement of the economy.
"Let me be clear. No.1 imperative this political season is to uproot this Kenyatta/homeguard menace for good.
"If the psychopathic megalomaniac Ruto is the price to pay so be it. If my friend Raila is collateral damage so be it. As we say in Gikuyu kīrīa gīgūciarwo nītūkuongithia," he said.
Uhuru and Raila reconciled in March 2018 contrary to the expectations of their allies. They have been working together since that time.
