Nairobi Hospital is yet again on the receiving end, after a patient reportedly got stuck in the lift for over an hour after it failed.
The patient, a 40-year-old man is reportedly said to have been on Transit from the Intensive Care Unit to the High Dependency Unit.
Outgoing Health CS Sicily Kariuki ordered investigation into the incident by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Union.
"The hospital administration failed to find an immediate solution to the grave situation," she stated.
Kariuki directed KMPDU to submit a report on the issue in two days.
"The hospital management is hereby directed to ensure patients at the facility are not exposed to similar situations in future," the CS said.
The hospital's CEO Daniel Yumbya when contacted over the matter said he was at the hospital sorting out the issue with the management and the patient's family.
