The online betting platform, whose real name is Nanovas International (K) Limited trading, has affirmed that it is tax complaint and wants the court to temporarily halt a decision to suspend its operating license.

The firm has now decided to seek legal redress following the revocation of its license and blockage of its pay bill number.

In court papers, the firm is demanding the government to allow it to use its Pay Bill number.

The firm wants the government to protect it from the Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB).

“Pending the hearing and determination of the petition, the court to issue an order temporarily suspending the board letter dated July 10, 2019, addressed to Safaricom Limited,” reads court papers.

Other firms whose Pay Bill numbers have since been blocked include, SportPesa, Atari Gaming, Palms Bet,  Betin, Cysabet, Betway, Dafabet Elitebet, Sportybet, PremierBet, Lucky2u, and Betboss.

Others affected companies are Millionaire Sports Bet Atari, Chezacash, Easibet, Betyetu, Bungabet, Saharabet, Easleighbet, Kick-Off, 1xBet, MozzartBet, and World Sports Betting.

The move comes after President Uhuru Kenyatta affirmed that all betting firms must be prepared to pay taxes before they can remain operational.
