Seven people were killed on Wednesday in an accident involving a 14-seater matatu in Makueni county.

It is believed that the vehicle veered off at a sharp bend on the road and hit a barrier.

"The matatu driver lost control of the vehicle at the black spot. Traffic police officers are on their way to the area," Baraza is quoted by the Star.

Baraza added that the injured were rushed to hospital.
