Seven members of the same family have been confirmed dead after a grisly road accident at Salgaa along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway.
The accident involving a personal car and a truck occurred on Saturday morning at around 2am when the two collided head before a bus rammed into the wreckage.
A man, his son, daughter, daughter in-law and three grandchildren perished on the spot but the occupants of the truck escaped with minor injuries.
According to reports, the victims were headed back to Kitale after attending a burial ceremony in Nyeri.
The victims’ bodies were moved to Nakuru County Mortuary, while the involved vehicles were towed to Salgaa Police Station.
Injured passengers were taken to Rift Valley Provincial Hospital in Nakuru for treatment.
