Facebook has been entangled in a scandal about how it exposed it's users private data to Cambridge Analytica, a research firm which worked for US President Donald Trump's campaign.
The revelation has driven some people around the globe to deleting their accounts to protect their privacy.Following the expose on how Cambridge Analytica used people's Facebook data to help Trump's campaign in the 2016 election, a section of users have questioned the role that Facebook plays to prevent unscrupulous people from obtaining its users’ data.According to the Independent, it’s advisable to delete the following pieces of information from your Facebook account as a safety measure.1. Birthday information: Don't reveal your date of birth and address, which people can use to gain access to your bank account.2. Phone number: people can easily stalk you using your phone contact information.3. Photographs of your family members: Kidnappers can track members of your family using the pictures you’ve posted.4. Location: with location information, people who want to harm you might easily find out where you are.5. Stop tagging your location: tagging your location discloses your address as well.6. Your relationship status: revealing your relationship status is also not good idea as this piece of information might be useful to your enemies.7. Your credit card details: this information can be used by thieves to steal from you.
