Machakos County governor Alfred Mutua has officially met with the contractors and officiate the test run on the Drilling Rigs that will begin the exercise of sinking boreholes in Machakos.
The bore holes which will be in 70 locations within the county will boost the farming projects and eradicate starvation in the Akamba land which has always been the notion of Kenyans.
Mutua who was speaking in Machakos town at the People’s Park on Friday said that his government is determined to make the dreams come true of zero hunger due to inadequate water terming himself as “Kusema na Kutenda”
The county boss has called on Machakos farmers to embrace the project and not to lazy around when the boreholes are installed since it will be a win lose for the government due to the multi million tax payers money gone to the drain.
The governor had established the project of water mapping and household survey program last week which will benefit more than 200,000 families in the county an exercise to give the people of Machakos piped and clean water.
He revealed that plans are underway in sensitizing every family which will benefit from the water project on how to till their lands and improve their economic stability within the homestead so as to eradicate poverty in full gear.
He said that he will not tire in maintaining the county as one of the most leading county in terms f development and assured residents by the end of his term, Machakos will never be the same again.
