Less than 30 % of the voters have turned out to register and 70% of people have not turned out to register hence, many people will be left out since less than 1 million voters have been registered according to the commission.

In a statement released by the commission, 868,073 people have registered but the commission is expecting to register more people today countrywide as the exercise ends.

The commission had targeted to register new 4 million voters who will participate in the general elections come 2017 but it seems that about 3 million voters will be left out since the turn up for people registering as voters is low.

Previously, the commission had complained that less money was allocated to conduct the exercise as many people lack information till today due to lack of civic education.

"The national treasury gave us less funds and resources. The exercise has not been smoothly delivered due to lack of funds and resources we have given a quarter results thus, we cannot cannot meet the target,” said Ezra Chiloba, an IEBC officer.
