Speaking when he presided over the event on Saturday at Kwa Shee Primary School, the legislator said the funds will be used to sponsor 700 needy students.

"This programme also benefited students who did well in the 2015 KCPE exam, who were drawn from all the eight public schools in the constituency," he said.

"Education is the best investment we can give our children. Education is the greatest engine of personal development," he added.

Meanwhile, the MP has condemned the killing of terror suspects in Kisauni.

He urged police officers to conduct their operations in a professional manner, by arresting suspected criminals and arraigning them in court, as opposed to carrying out extra judicial killings.

"I condemn the extra judicial killings visited upon our innocent kenyans in the strongest terms possible. These actions must stop.We are guided by law in this country," said the MP.

This comes after two terror suspects, Salim Hanjary Bedzimba and Kibwana Ahmed Abdallah alias Rajab were killed on Thursday following a police raid on a house in Junda, Kisauni Constituency.

The two are suspected to have been planning to carry out attacks in Mombasa.
