Maangi speaking on Sunday when he joined Catholic worshipers for a church service, a funds drive and a thanksgiving mass ceremony for Rev. Father Josephat Ondwari, at Sengera Parish in Bomachoge Chache Constituency urged politicians to continue donating to the church without fear.

He said politicians donating generously to the church should not be taken as thieves.

"When someone gives money to church it does not mean that person has stolen. One can decide to donate to church his or her hardly earned money to help the church grow in matters of infrastructure," he stated.

Maangi who is expected to run for the Kisii County Gubernatorial seat in 2022 dismissed claims that politicians attending fund drives in churches are corrupt.

"Proof should be produced by those claiming that a leader donating in church is corrupt otherwise, the tendency of tarnishing people's names must stop since our people these days are mature and they can't buy propaganda," stated Maangi.

He further warned politicians against concentrating on hatred politics.
