Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi on Saturday resurfaced almost a week after his official cars were seized and security was withdrawn.
Maangi on Saturday was among mourners attending the burial of the late wife to Julius Leseeto, Deputy Governor of Samburu County.
"Today I joined my colleague, H. E. Julius Leseeto, Deputy Governor of Samburu County, his family members and friends to pay my last respects to his wife, the Late Mama Lina Milly Leseeto, who was laid to rest at their family home in Kisima, Maralal, in Samburu county. May the Lord rest her soul in eternal peace," wrote Maangi on his Facebook page.
On Friday last week, Maangi's official cars were seized and his security withdrawn just a day to the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) consultative forum where former Prime Minister Raila Odinga attended.
"Last night (this morning) at about 4 am, a contingent of about 12 armed policemen came to my residence in Kisii town ready with a tow truck to tow away my county government allocated vehicles but my domestic staff offered to give them the keys and they took away the vehicles" Maangi posted on Facebook last week.
Following the incident, Maangi claimed that his life was in danger and that he needed spiritual support from Kenyans.
"Owing to the above I have reasonable believe that my life is truly in danger. I ask all Kenyans at large to pray for me. My life is in danger," he added.
