Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has asked the government to allow embattled lawyer Miguna Miguna back into the country.
Addressing journalists at his Tala home on Thursday, Muthama said it is unfair for Miguna who is a Kenyan by birth to be locked out without a reason.
He said it is despicable for the government to ignore court orders directing Miguna be allowed in the country, and still expect Kenyans to adhere to the law.
"The court has on numerous occasions given orders for Miguna to be allowed back in the country, but the order hasn't been followed by the government," he said.
"Let him be allowed in the country unconditionally. If he has done anything wrong let him be punished on the Kenyan soil," he added.
He opined that Miguna was deported for administering oath to ODM leader Raila Odinga in 2018, yet Raila is not being blamed for anything.
"The person who administered the oath is now the accused person. Those who swore by the Bible to protect the Constitution are the same people disregarding the same Constitution," said Muthama.
