Nominated Jubilee Senator Millicent Omanga has viciously torn into the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
Speaking on Friday during an Inua Mama rally in Kamukunji, Nairobi County, the flamboyant legislator said that she would not accept a referendum that was informed by a cynical ploy to create positions for individuals.
"That is why we are saying that the politics of creating positions and taking money to offices up there, we want to say that we are against that kind of politics ( Na ndio kwa sababu tunasema hii siasa yenye inasemwa ifanywe sijui watu wajiongeze viti, pesa iendelee kwenda uko juu kwa maofisi sisi tunakataa)," the nominated senator said.
Senator Omanga and his Inua Mama associates have expressed their reservations about the intentions of the BBI.
They have made no bones about the fact that they think it is a cynical ploy to create political positions for a few individuals.
Omanga's strong words come amid veteran opposition and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leaders spirited attempts to drum up support for the BBI.
Members of the initiative's committee are in the process of compiling the report before handing it over to Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Mr Odinga has hailed the BBI as a sure path towards a better future away from the tensions that have long characterised political competition in the country.
