A family at Langas in Eldoret is pleading for justice after their son Leone Kamau was hit by a landlord in Subaru and died as a result.
According to the mother of the deceased Mary Wangoi, Leone completed his KCSE on November 21st, 2019 and was taken by his cousin.
“They went to my uncle's home on 28th November and at 1 pm, I received a phone call that my child was in the hospital in critical condition. When I reached the hospital I found that my child was not under oxygen and was not talking and at 630pm I was told that my child had passed on,” Mary Wangoi narrated.
Wangoi who spoke to the press in Eldoret town on Wednesday said she was the only eldest son in the family of two whom she depended on to help him in the future.
“After following up to know what transpired I was told that my son was beaten up at Subaru near action estate and the person who hit was a land who hit him on the head,” she added.
Wangoi further said her child has never been a thief and called on the government to help him get justice.
Moses Mwangi Human Rights activist in Uasin Gishu condemned the incident and called for the arrest of those who were involved since nobody is above the law.
He called on the Uasin Gishu County Commander, OCPD, and the DCI to ensure the family gets justice and if the boy had committed a crime he could be taken to the police station.
