ODM party secretary Edwin Sifuna has defended his boss Raila Odinga against Deputy President William Ruto’s onslaught.
In a tweet on Sunday, Sifuna said that the second in command might have changed after he parted ways with Odinga. He said that stealing from public coffers is a habit that one can learn, adding that Ruto might have acquired the same along the way.
“Habit is acquired. No one is born a thief. Thieving is an acquired habit. So it is quite possible you were a good/clean boy when you were "supporting others" but grew up into a thieving man,” he responded.
The DP had claimed that Odinga wants him investigated because he is not sailing in the same boat but when he backed him he never made such demands. He faulted the opposition leaders for being hypocritical and self-centered after he realised it is his turn to ascend to power.
“Baba,so you are saying this whole handshake/BBI was petty personality schemes.Supporting others I was good/clean boy;"mweupeee kama pamba". Now the same WsR should be investigated. Space/time for such deceit/conmanship is over;we are wiser. Be leaders. Be truthful. Wacha utapeli,” Ruto tweeted.
ODM party leader had on Friday told the DP to resign over graft related accusations.
