Certain foods can ease the pain. Among them include eggs which are iron-rich foods. 

Most women lose a lot of blood during this period and thus it is usually important that they eat food containing more iron to help them replenish the lost blood. 

“As an egg is released, the female body may again see hormone levels being changed,” notes Kristen Stavridis, a nutritionist.

She says eating food containing iron can be important as this will help you beat the condition.

“The first five days or so (depending on the individual) of our menstrual cycle marks the time where blood loss occurs, therefore putting us more at risk for lower iron levels,” says Kristen

According to the nutritionist, it is crucial for young girls in particular, even if they are vegetarian or vegan, to get enough iron-rich foods into their diet or supplement if need be. 

She says "it is important to ensure your intake of Vitamin C is sufficient too as this enables iron to be absorbed into the body more easily."
