National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has claimed opposition chief Raila Odinga entered into a truce with President Kenyatta with an aim to amend the Constitution and create the position of Prime Minister.

He on Sunday said Raila is banking on the same to remain relevant ahead of the 2022 general elections, well aware that he might get irrelevant should the bid flop.

"For Uhuru, BBI was to unite Kenyans and may not necessarily result in a referendum but for Raila, the motive was to have a vote that will create the premier position, and therefore all was clear," he claimed.

According to Duale, it will be over for Raila should his intentions fail to materialise.

“I like the consistency with Raila, he knows what he wants. I even support him on the parliamentary system of government, but if he losses this referendum, it will be doom for him because he has put all his hopes there,” he said.
