President Uhuru Kenyatta has appealed to investors from the United States of America (USA) to consider pumping resources into Kenya.
Uhuru on Wednesday said that his government has put in place various measures to ensure that investors have more reasons to conduct their businesses in the country.
He said that his government is committed to ensuring the Big Four Agenda is attained before he leaves the office.
The President also reiterated that he wants the GDP to rise from the current 8.4 per cent to 15 per cent.
“The sector (manufacturing) presents major opportunities for local and foreign investors in areas such as agro-processing through value addition in key value chains such as textiles and leather, the maritime sector, construction, iron and steel, oil and gas," he said, as quoted by the Standard.
Uhuru made the remarks when he spoke to investors at the American Chamber of Commerce.
The event attracted investors from different sectors of the US Economy.
President Kenyatta also said that his government has good plans for the investors, adding that the nation will maintain the cordial ties it shares with the US.
He noted that Kenya and the US have been great economic friends and that he will create an ideal environment for the friendship to thrive even more.
