Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga has mourned the death of mama Dorcas Akumu Ajwang’.
Mama Dorcas is the mother of Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang', Ruaraka Member of Parliament TJ Kajwang', and the late former Cabinet Minister Otieno Kajwang'.
She is also the mother of Peter Kajwang’, Kaptembwa Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) in Nakuru County.
Raila lauded the deceased for having given the country sons who have served diligently, in positions bestowed upon them.
In a tweet on Sunday, the former Prime Minister prayed for the family to be strong at this trying moment.
"To the family of Mwalimu David Ajwang Nyakwamba, please accept our condolences on the passing of mama Dorcas Akumu Ajwang’, mother to the late Sen Gerald Otieno Kajwang’, Senator Moses Otieno Kajwang’, Hon TJ Kajwang’, Hon Peter Kajwang’ (MCA Kaptembwa Ward Nakuru) and others," he posted.
"Mama Dorcas gave us fine public servants who have served our country in different capacities and will continue doing so while she is away. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult moment. Peace be with you," Raila posted.
The Kajwang's' have played crucial roles in the political life of Raila in the last two decades.
TJ Kajwang' was part of the team that administered oath to him during his controversial January 30, 2018, swearing in at the Uhuru Park, Nairobi.
Otieno Kajwang' came up with the popular song 'Raila usilale, bado mapambano', that became a very powerful political tool in the disputed 2007 elections.
