Mutua said the DP will be finished politically whether he rejects or throws his weight behind the much-awaited report by the BBI task force.

"BBI will be William Ruto Waterloo.  It doesn't matter whether he supports, or opposes, BBI.  He's politically dead either way," the US-based lawyer tweeted on Saturday evening.

The BBI was established following the March 9, 2018,  handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

In the past one and a half years, the team has been traversing the country collecting views from Kenyans on how to address some of long-standing problems that have been ailing the nation such as negative ethnicity, lack of inclusivity in government among others.

In a tweet on Saturday, the DP dismissed reports he was in a dilemma over the BBI report which is expected to be made public in the coming days.

"Dilemma? Hapana! No way! Jubilee as a democratic party celebrates diversity of opinion free of hate and focused on transformation for all; for us big or small matters but ultimately as initiators of inclusive non-tribal political discourse  we will stand behind our party and leader," he said.

Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruyoit said the DP's camp will not hesitate to accept the report should they find it 'favourable'.

“If it has proposals favourable to us and good for Kenya, why should we reject it?” Cheruiyot posed.
