Police officers in Kenyenya have confirmed that probe is ongoing over the killing of a form four female student Elvinah Moracha.
Moracha was killed and her body dumped in a fishpond two weeks ago after she was lured from a house where she was revising for her exams.
Kenyenya police boss Isaac Thuranira said investigations are still ongoing.
"The culprits must be brought to book. We can't spare anyone because no one is allowed to kill another," he said.
Thuranira called on members of the public with information about the killing of Elvinah to volunteer information to police.
"The public must not shy off from reporting anyone they suspect killed the student. We must join hands to ensure the killers are apprehended to face the law," he said.
He dismissed claims that police officers are lazy and won't bring the suspect(s) to book.
"Those claiming that we are sleeping on the job should give us humble time to do investigations and not dictating us on what we should do. Police can't rush to arrest someone just like that. We need to gather evidence and once we apprehend the suspect(s) we arraign in court," he added.
