President Uhuru and deputy president Dr William Ruto have reacted to the tragedy at the Precious Talent  School that claimed the lives of seven students and left several others injured.

In a message shared on Twitter by State House, the head of state condoled with the affected families and went on to assure that his administration was bringing all resources at its disposal to alleviate further suffering.

"My heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to families of the children affected by the tragedy at Precious Talent Academy in Dagoretti. Our agencies are taking urgent actions to contain the situation and alleviate further suffering, " the Kenyan president said.

DP Ruto wished the injured a quick recovery in a tweet.

"Condolences to the families that have lost their loved ones in the unfortunate incident at Precious Talent School, Nairobi County. Quick recovery to the injured. Concerned agencies have been mobilised to address the situation. We must create safe spaces for our children to learn, " DP Ruto's tweet read.

The tragedy happened Monday morning minutes after the students had arrived at the school.

There were students in the upper classes when the building came tumbling down, according to the officials of the Kenya Red Cross.

Kenyans on social media have reacted to the tragedy with shock and have called on the government to bring to book those who constructed the building.

Students who survived the shocking tragedy were rushed to the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).

Parents of the students at the Precious Talent  School were seen wailing at the school's premises.

The National Building Inspectorate has said that it has started investigations into unsafe buildings in Nairobi.
