Political commentator David Osiany has backed the extension of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) taskforce, terming it very necessary.
Already, the issue is becoming a national debate, with politicians disagreeing on whether or not the move by President Uhuru Kenyatta was right.
But Osiany, also a political strategist, says that by not implementing the BBI report right away, Kwnysns have a chance to look into it afresh.
He says that this also allows them to factor in what they feel might have been left out, especially the political side of the report.
"There are things Kenyans expected but are not there, like the abolition of the Woman Representative seat. There are political issues they might be needing but are not there (Kuna mambo watu walitarajia yatakuja lakini hayako, mambo kama kutolewa kwa Women Rep. Kuna mambo ya kisiasa ambayo wakenya huenda wanayatamani lakini hayapo)," he said.
Osiany spoke on Radio Maisha, Tuesday morning.
He also faulted those pushing for immediate implementation of the report, terming it impossible at the moment.
According to Osiany, the document must be broken down into a bill, before being taken to parliament for further processing, which can only be done by a taskforce.
"This report cannot be taken to parliament as a bill in its current state. And that job cannot be done by anybody else apart from a taskforce (Hii ripoti haiwezi pelekwa bunge kama mswada ilivyo sasa, na hiyo kazi haiwezi fanywa na mtu mwingine kama sio taskforce)," he added.
