This comes amidst a said growing rebellion from the Mt Kenya region since President Uhuru agreed to work with ODM leader Raila Amolo Odinga and spearheaded for the Building Bridges Initiative.

The absence of the lawmakers from the meeting could not miss being noticed as normally many leaders from a said region would have attended the meeting because it would be relevant for them.

However, the  12 MPs are said to have opted to accompany Deputy President William Ruto as he made his way to Embu, Makueni, and Nyeri.

Only a handful of leaders were present during the event in Kiambu including Kiambu deputy governor James Nyoro, nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura, area MP Simon King'ara,  Senator Kimani Wamatangi, former Woman Representative Anna Nyokabi, and former governor William Kabogo.

The leaders who were expected to attend the meeting included MPs for Kabete, Lari, Limuru, Gatundu South, Juja, Githunguri, Thika Town, Ruiru, Kiambu, Kiambaa, Kikuyu, and Gatundu North.

On the other hand, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wa said that he was out of the country but he also said he did no get an invitation to be at the service where the president was. He blamed it to the lack of official communication.

"His office never invited me but maybe they sent them to those within the country. I would have been happy to join our President in the work of building the Lord's house," he said.

Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura, however, said that the leaders did not snub the president because he got there quietly something that did not need too much appraisal. The senator also said that the head of state only came to worship and fundraise for the development of the church.
