President Uhuru Kenyatta has vowed not to allow investors to use manufacturing materials from outside the country.

Speaking when he inspected housing projects in Nairobi on Saturday, the head of state urged investors to take advantage of the local resources to boost Kenyans in different sectors of the economy.

He lamented that the use of materials from outside countries has affected the economy of this country. He also vowed to protect investors’ interest as long as he remains in power. 

“I will not allow investors to bring into the country construction resources that are already here,” Kenyatta said, as quoted by Capital FM

 He also said that is the government is ready to do everything needed to ensure the economy keeps growing. He noted that investors can use materials from within the respective industry to ensure the country reaps big at the end of the day.

 “We have young people in different parts of the country who are able to make these materials, let us support them so that we can bridge the jobless gap among our young people,” the head of State added.

Uhuru, who is completing his second and final term in power, has reiterated his commitment to fulfilling his promise. 

The President has also been urging leaders to stop sideshows at the expense of development.
