Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i has dismissed claims that President Uhuru Kenyatta's cabinet is split following ongoing Jubilee wrangles.
Over the last one week, a group of leaders both from Tanga Tanga and Kieleweke have called for dissolution of Cabinet, over the DP William Ruto's assassination claims.
And in Nyeri on Friday, Matiang'i who was in the company of Roads minister James Macharia, dismissed claims that the cabinet was split.
"Interior CS Fred Matiangi has dismissed Claims of a cabinet split saying the cabinet secretaries continue to work together in realising the Jubilee Agenda," reports NTV.
Four Cabinet Secretaries from Mt Kenya region among them Mr Macharia, were accused of plotting to kill Dr Ruto in a letter which has since been dismissed as fake.
Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho on Monday also dismissed the assassination claims, arguing that nobody had formally complained about the plot.
"I would be very reserved in responding to useless and baseless allegations because they're under police investigations. We are really credited with some intelligence; we have some brains better than what we are hearing. It’s unfortunate that our country can occupy space and space of our media talking about imaginations," he said.
"You know I hear assassination claims, who has complained? I am yet to hear someone who has complained,” said Kibicho.
There are fears that the cabinet could be split into two camps following the assassination claims. President Uhuru Kenyatta is yet to speak about the matter in public.
