LG Electronics East Africa has opened a new outlet in Mombasa, its first shop to be established outside Nairobi.
The new shop which is located at Palm Breeze building along Links road, near the Nyali Centre, is the company's fourth electronic outlet to be set up in Kenya, with the other three located in Nairobi.
LG Electronics East Africa Public Relations and Marketing Manager Maureen Kemunto said the new shop is part of their plan which was hatched two years ago, with the aim of expanding its retail outlets.
She said clients from the Coast region have been calling upon the company to open a shop near them.
“There is a great opportunity that exists in Mombasa. We are responding to the needs of our clientele who had been calling for the establishment of a brand shop in this county,” said Kemunto as quoted by The Star.
The Mombasa County Government which has welcomed the move noted that it is committed to diversifying the economy.
"We have to diversify our economy. That is what the governor is trying to achieve not only for Mombasa but also for the whole Coast region,” said the county government.
Kemunto noted that all types of home appliances including the latest television series will be available at the LG shop.
“We are very optimistic as a brand that this is actually going to bring about turnaround not only to our customers but also to the county,” said Kemunto.
